Kinetic Sculpture – Full
Think. Design. Build. In this fabrication-intensive class, we will create small kinetic sculptures and automata. We will use copper, brass, silver, and steel, while also incorporating alternative materials, such as wood, stone, and paper. Construct your own hinges, ball and socket joints, crank shafts, and more as you explore mechanisms, movement, and design considerations. Start by fabricating a kinetic sample to understand basic mechanisms, and then expand by building your own small desktop or wall-mounted interactive sculptures. Tap into your boundless imagination as you learn from demonstrations, discussions, and experimentation. All levels.
